Brenda Taylor is a senior clinical psychologist offering counselling and assessment in a caring, professional space to focus on your health and wellbeing.  Brenda has worked as a psychologist and educator for many years and started counselling in private practice 12 years ago. She has worked in many settings to develop wide experience with children, adolescents and adults. Brenda consults every Thursday.


Brenda values connection, empathy, and genuine support while using up to date knowledge and treatment approaches. She adopts a holistic and strengths-based approach, using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma-informed practice and Schema Therapy. Brenda sees treatment as a collaboration and partnership with a person-centred approach.

Treatment Philosophy


Brenda has worked in private practice after completing her Master’s degree, but has also worked for Headspace, in Community Health, for a post and perinatal program, in primary and secondary schools, for Victoria Police and for Universities. She has mentored and taught the next generation of psychologists and mental health professionals and has experience in leading teams as part of her role. Prior to being a psychologist, she was a learning consultant and worked for many years consulting to industries for compliance and training. She also delivered work culture, management and Equality Opportunity and Diversity training.
